Nick M. | Great Campsite Park | Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 | This is a great campsite - was very clean and the bathrooms were good, plenty of hot water. It is located right at the beginning of of Cape Cod located in Sandwich, MA. There is not much going on in the park itself - but the campsites are pretty spacious and secluded and it's the area around that has plenty to do. We stayed at campsite 14, and most of the campsites around seemed just as nice. There is a small camp store where you can get your firewood, ice, and some things you forgot. There is also a house down the road that sells firewood for $1 street when I visited. There's mini-golf, ice cream, restaurants, and a Stop&Shop right in town as well. Staff was very friendly and there are directions printed to nearby attractions and beaches.
Going to this park gives you free access to Scusset Beach, which is a beach on the bay. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from the campgrounds. The water here is usually quite chilly even in the Summer but if it's hot out it feels great. We used the campsite as a base camp to make several day trips to Scusset Beach, and also made a trip out to Nauset Beach - an Atlantic Ocean beach to get some actual wave action.
Overall there isn't much to do at all right at the campsite (lots of hiking/biking though), but that didn't bother us at all with all the nearby attractions. This park is a great value for staying on the Cape! | | |
