This Campground is absolutely wonderful. It has ample amounts of sandy beaches, hiking trails and the lovely small lake side town feel that you could ever want. The campsites all have electrical hookups, picnic tables, and fireplaces. The campground also has wonderful bathroom facilites and a great Camp Store that allows you to purchase hard scooped ice cream, beach toys, or souveniers. It also offers last minute food purchases such as bread, marshmallows, tinfoil and things like that. You can also go to the grocery store in town which is about 5 miles away. This park is nestled on Lake Charlevoix which tends to be a bit warmer than Lake Michigan but still large enough to enjoy the wonderful sunsets. Close by is the town of Boyne, Charlevoix, and Petoskey. All very wonderful spots to visit any time during the year. The campsite itself has wonderful activities for children that involve learning about the local wildlife as well as the environment and how to preserve it. This campground is open all 4 seasons and is a great spot to go cross country skiiing. If you know some of the secrets of this campground you can find the clay beach (the beach that has clas instead of sand) or the small little creek that enters out into the lake. You can also find a baseball diamond, horshoe pits, volleyball and basketball courts. The campground is quite large and allows pets and bycicles/rollerblades.
