Las Vegas Bay Campground is located close to Henderson/Las Vegas, but it is quiet and not overly crowded. We stayed on a mild NV weekend in May (daytime high of 90, nighttime low of 60) and there was plenty of spots open. There are lots of trees and shade to be had at almost every campsite in the park. Many of the sites overlook the Las Vegas Wash (runoff from the Vegas Valley) and you can hear water rushing when it's quiet. There are also about half dozen sites that overlook Lake Mead in the distance (no generator loop). There was a campground host and a campground volunteer staying at the park and the bathrooms and the entire park were very clean and well maintained. There is a short hiking trail right from the campground, but other than that, most of Lake Mead's attractions are a bike ride or car ride from the campground. Currently there is not an easy way to access the River Mountain Loop bike trail from this campground. (The Boulder Beach Campground is right on the trail). The campground has flush toilets, running water, trash service and recycling. The park has a rule of no glass, but currently it is not strictly enforced.
