Chambers County Park |
Reviewed on March 23rd, 2023 |
A few miles south of Anahuac in the African-American village of Double Bayou. This is a Chambers county park and in order to stay here you need to contact them by email, phone or in person to get a permit to camp here for up to 3 days. You must be self contained. There are no designated sites or hook ups and they ask that you don't park on the grass. It has an expansive green area with playgrounds for the children. There are picnic shelters that you can rent for events. We camped down by the canoe launch in the small gravel parking lot. We didn't take our kayaks out on the river but it looked like a great place for a paddle. There are washrooms on site but no showers. Security drives by regularly. |
