BEST CAMPGROUND IN 15+YRS OF CAMPING!SO QUIET!!!
Reviewed on June 19th, 2020
Main reason for choosing this campground-NO OFF ROAD VEHICLES ALLOWED IN CAMPGROUND!!Very QUIET at night as well, due to strict NO NOISE/GUESTS AFTER 11pm!Well treed in between sites for privacy.Wide roads into campground/ roads on loops.Lots of space in chosen sites for large trailers/pull through sites available.Beautiful lake for day use area.(Very STEEP hill into lake area,a few sites there best suited for tents/truck campers).Very clean campground.WONDERFULLY FRIENDLY CAMP HOSTS!

  Too much dust!
Reviewed on June 19th, 2020
Stayed for two nights just got home. Kids there now till end of Aug. long weekend 2018. Very busy, no one enforcing rules. 3 miles of very dusty rutted roads to get there and then the roads in the park are just as rutted and dusty. Everyone wants down by the lake so trailers coming through all day long and no speed limit enforced so those of us with a site are continually being dust all tithe time. Contact park office to no avail. Said they’d look into it. Local bible camp comes in with three big vans drops off thirty kids and zooms out dusting us, only to return 3 hours later to pick them back up and dust us a second time. Nice lake, campaites were tight for trailers, won’t let you burn dead fallen trees(there everywhere) A lot standing too. Not much amenities for your $23.00 a night. Probably won’t go back.

  August 2013 nice spot
Reviewed on June 19th, 2020
We found Chinook lake to be a lovely spot - fortunate to get a site on the lake loop. Sites are a decent size and far enough apart with beautiful huge trees between. Sites are well maintained and very clean. Unlike some of the comments we had no issues with the hosts - they did double check to be sure we had paid one evening but I think we had put it in the box after they had checked it. No big deal - they were very polite about it! Only slightly less positive comment we would make is that the out houses could have been pumped out. Although spot cleaned regularly we wished that were a little more thoroughly done. No troubles with noisy campers at all - a very peaceful visit in fact and loved the lake for swimming and rafting (don't expect a beach though) and the surrounding trails are beautiful!

  Scam artists
Reviewed on June 19th, 2020
We camped here the weekend of July 12-14. We paid for one night when we arrived and paid for the second night the next morning. Later that day the campground hosts can by our site telling us we hadn't paid and asking for more money. We refused to pay again. Be wary of this campground as we heard others having the same problem so this may be a regular scam here. The campground was full for the entire weekend with ost sites having 2 trailers on them. Two sites near us each had a trailer, a tent and three vehicles and all occupants of these two sites partied in one of the sites for two straight days. There was little peace and quiet. The Hosts did nothing to enforce any rule, other than trying to get some of us to pay more than once. A beautiful area but we would suggest finding somewhere else to camp.

  Awesome camping!
Reviewed on June 19th, 2020
Not sure about these reviews calling camp hosts scam artists. Not my experience. It says right on the envelope the fee is per family. If you have several tents and trailers on one spot, you must EACH pay the $20 per night fee. I tented for a week and found the hosts to be helpful and totally honest. They kept washrooms clean daily. Campers were not so go about that - dropping wine bottles in the hole! They also came around several times with firewood and to make sure noise level did not get too high. AFTER final drive thru at night, people would become noisy. No respect for others. Blaring music, kids running around yelling after dark... Still a great spot to camp - lake is awesome for swimming, canoeing and fishing. Camp sites in the pine trees offer good shade and shelter. Large bundles of firewood. Grate on firepit. Would definitely go back. Would never want to be a camp host though! Tough job!

  Disappointed!!!!!
Reviewed on June 19th, 2020
The campground itself is very nice. Outhouses are clean, sites are private and well treed. However the first 2 nights the people in the site behind us partied loudly until 3am... nothing done about it. The the guy across the road ran his generator for hours on end but he didn't have one of the little quiet ones so very annoying. Then park staff kept coming by and asking for more money... after we had already paid $240. So on our second last day they came and asked for $60 more and left us with envelopes to put the money in and drop it in the box which we were going to do on our way out, but that night the Conservation Officer came by and said they told him we wouldn't pay but after talking with him he said they only wanted $20 more. We repeated and confirmed that with him 4 times and he said yes if we paid $20 right now then there would be no more issues. My husband borrowed the officers pen, filled out the envelope, had the officer watch him put the money in the envelope and he saw my husband deposit the envelope in the drop box. Next morning as we were packing up parks people came by and told my brother-in-law they want another $80! So then my father-in-law talked to them and they told him they wanted another $240!!!! So he told them we weren't paying it and they told him we were never welcome back. Good extortion plan they've got going there! I wonder how much of that money they actually turn in and to say we're never welcome back is kind of presumptuous of them as is a provincial campground... they don't own it. Being that there are no hook-ups the site is expensive as according to their math it would have worked out to almost $42 a night!
