  Heavan On Earth
Reviewed on June 17th, 2025
As far as natural beauty goes, I consider Yosemite National Park to be heaven on earth. This place has been on my wish list for years and I was finally able to visit for one day last year. Let me just tell you that I was blown away by how gorgeous this place is. It really is breathtaking. There are waterfalls, mountains, hiking, camping, and just a ton of natural beauty all around. I hope to plan another trip soon and stay longer. It is a very popular National Park so you will need to get a permit to enter the park. This helps to spread out the traffic so plan ahead for your visit but it will be worth it!

  Most sites are electric
Reviewed on May 29th, 2025
The information on this site is very very old. The campground has been upgraded to 2/3 to 3/4 electric sites in the Baptism campground. It would be great if the bathrooms (which aren't awful, only 2 showers and 3 stalls) would be converted to unisex showers, family bathroom and women's and men's like all the other state park campgrounds.

  The Best Family Camping
Reviewed on September 3rd, 2024
MacGregor Point has always and continues to be an excellent place for taking the entire family for a fun camping experience. The staff at MacGregor take the extra effort to ensure that the park remains beautiful in the campgrounds, the facilities and the forest itself. Whether you enjoy being on the beach, hiking, bird watching or chasing sunsets there is an activity and place for everyone. With how large the park is you never feel like you are on top of another campsite and can have a decent amount of privacy. The park wardens are constantly patrolling and ensuring that everyone can have an enjoyable stay.

  Excellent

C1 is very secluded and has a viewing area of the lake (a 30 second path above where the fire pit and tent pad area are) that is absolutely stunning with a bench to overlook the lake and lighthouse view. The campsite where the tent is pitched is not directly overlooking the lake. C1 is easily accessible from the parking lot (only a few hundred feet), which makes carting in stuff easy as opposed to other cart in sites.

  Excellent views of lake
Reviewed on August 16th, 2024
C13 is an excellent campsite. It is right on the lake and offers beautiful views. The tent site doesn't give direct view of the lake, but it's easily viewable from the picnic area and firepit. Very spacious and private. I like C11, C17, and C1 too (they're all equally lovely.)

  Almost Perfect
Reviewed on June 24th, 2024
At first glance of the photos for this site i was really excited as it looked like it had a good amount of privacy and room. For whatever reason the room in the site was a lot tighter than we thought, but it was sufficient. Being directly next to the bathroom can often be a drag with people coming and going constantly, but this site is a good enough distance that it didn't really affect us. The main issue with this site is that all of the traffic for the 300 group of sites comes down a main road right by this site. With sufficient tree coverage, this is not a huge deal, but this site has a perfect clearing of trees that acts as a gigantic window into the campsite for everyone that drives in. We ended up ignoring it mostly but definitely didn't feel very private. All in all it was a good site, easy to get to, close to the bathrooms, with a low amount of privacy.

  Beautiful views
Reviewed on September 15th, 2023
Very private, beautiful views of the lighthouse and the lake. Minimal road noise you really just hear the lake! Convenient to get to the pit toilet. The cart in is no joke though, there's a pretty decent hill leading up to the campsite.

  Interstate Park review
Reviewed on September 7th, 2023
I've probably left a review before, but I find it funny that this park has 3 stars and it is full every weekend. I love this campground and all that Taylor's Falls and across the river has to offer. The bathrooms are in horrible 1940's condition and usually one shower is always broken. I wish there was a cut through to bathroom, so you don't have to walk around the entire campground. Self-contained is best if you can onboard water. Non-river front campsites are larger and more spacious, but you can't beat the river view.

  Secluded
Reviewed on August 24th, 2023
Secluded site. Very private as it's a walk in site at the end of a dead end so no one will walk by your site. However the hiking trail goes by the back of the site, so you can see and hear hikers through the trees. Did not bother me though.

  Spacious and private
Reviewed on August 24th, 2023
Large site with a large tent pad. I tent camped, but I think it could accommodate a large RV. Lots of space in the site. Feels very private, not easy to see in from the road. Has good trees for hanging a hammock.
