| Unknown | | Nice Campground Along the Battle River | | Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 | | Riverdale is a great little campsite located about 15 minutes north of Wainwright AB on Hwy 41. There are 116 sites -- all have 30-amp power, and some have full service, although those are quickly grabbed up by seasonal campers and are rarely available for short-term campers. There are several playgrounds, 4 group sites where you can hold a variety of get-togethers, a small beach area, ball diamonds, mini golf, restaurant, a challenging 18 hole Par 3 Golf course with power cart and golf club rentals available. Rates are $20 per night, with weekly, monthly and seasonal rates available. Firewood is sold there - $5.00 for a puny little bundle, so we bring our own fire wood.
Your credit card is charged immediately when you make a reservation, which is fine, but what I don't like, is that if you need to cancel, they scoop the first $20 -- doesn't matter if you cancel a week ahead, or the day of the reservation. I see that as a money-grab. | | |
