Provincial Park Information | (No Ratings Yet) | Unknown | Unknown, Manitoba | Canada | Unknown | Unknown | | Description | From the minute you enter the river bottom forest you know you're somewhere special, any time of year. For these woods are home to some of the largest basswood, cottonwood and maple trees in the area. Choose the Wild Grape, or Elm Trail to wander along the twisting south bank of the Assiniboine River. On either side of the well-marked path is a lush green carpet of ferns and wild grapevines rising 12 m/40 ft. to the treetops. If you feel like you're being watched, you're probably right. White-tailed deer, fox, owls, raccoons, beaver and muskrat are plentiful. Walking out of the forest, wander by tall grass prairie that is in the process of being restored to its natural state. Come for a walk, stay for a picnic, or bring your canoe for a leisurely paddle along the Assiniboine. | | | | Park Stats | Campgrounds: 0 | Campsites: 0 | Photos: 0 | Reviews: 0 | Views: 308 | Likes: 0 |
