For 130 years before this area became a park, it was home of the Sibbald family. Tour Eildon Hall, the 19th-century family manor, and visit St. George's Church, the family church, near the shore. This park also has sandy beaches, shady picnic areas, forested hiking trails and activities for children.
I stayed in the radio free zone over the weekend and had takin my 9 year old son for a fun trip. Boy was I wrong. nothing but overpopulated sites and drinking and swearing 20 somethingers.
I would suggest going someplace further north......this location is strictly for drunkin Idiots
This place knows how to pack them in! Despite having limits for each campsite, all you see is large group after large group of party people. If the campers were not enough, on a sunny warm weekend they don't seem to have a limit of the number of car loads they let in. You can't find a spot to park or enjoy at the beach. It's like going to the mall the last weekend before Christmas!! Youre packed in like sardines. It's a shame because the location is pretty.
It's not camping it's a bar with insects. The place is packed feel sorry for anyone who has to clean the restrooms after these drunks are done with it.
