The northern hamlet of Stanley Mission is located 80 km northeast of La Ronge on the Churchill River. The community's name honours Reverend Robert Hunt's (the mission pastor at the time) ancestral home, Stanley Park, Gloucestershire, England.
The community is home to the Holy Trinity Church, the oldest building standing in Saskatchewan. The lumber for the church was cut locally; however the locks, hinges and thousands of pieces of coloured glass used in the stain glass windows came from England. Community events include poker rally in January, winter festival in March and Summer Gathering in July.
