This 1,327-acre park is situated in the wetlands of north Mobile Bay, and is a day-use, picnicking and scenic park with modern camping hook-ups for overnight visitors. Meaher’s boat ramp and fishing pier will appeal to every fisherman and a self-guided walk on our boardwalk will give you an up-close view of the beautiful Mobile-Tensaw Delta.

The Mobile-Tensaw Delta consists of approximately 20,323 acres of water, is the second largest delta in the contiguous US and Meaher State Park is the perfect access point to this massive natural wonder. Formed by the confluence of the Alabama and Tombigbee Rivers, the Mobile-Tensaw Delta is a complex network of tidally influenced rivers, creeks, bays, lakes, wetlands, and bayous. Since the Delta empties into Mobile Bay, it is a productive estuary with numerous species of fresh and saltwater fish, which makes Meaher State Park an angler’s dream. If you're lucky, you might also see an alligator or two.

The park offers a 300-foot pier with a 200-foot 'T' for your fishing pleasure. Access to the pier is included in the park admission fee. An Alabama freshwater fishing license is required, and most common freshwater and saltwater fish are abundant in the area. There is also a boat ramp with access to Blakeley River located on the east end of the park. Entry is $4 per boat. The ramp is accessible from 7 a.m. until sundown. You may also choose to walk the park with your camera, binoculars or even your favorite pet. There is a second boardwalk for walking only where you might see some of the delta's most unique flora and fauna.

Meaher’s campground has 61 RV campsites with 20-, 30- and 50-amp electrical connections, as well as water and sewer hook-ups. There are 10 improved tent sites with water and 20-amp electrical connections. We also have 4 cozy bay-side cabins (1 is handicap accessible) overlooking Ducker Bay. The campground features a modern bathhouse with laundry facilities.

After visiting the park, take advantage of the abundant shopping and dining options in the Mobile metro area. The white sands of Alabama’s Gulf Coast are only an hour away. If you are still hungry for more outdoor adventures, the nearby Mobile-Tensaw, W.L. Holland and Upper Delta Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) offer hunting and wildlife viewing opportunities for those visiting the Delta. Located near Meaher State Park is the Five Rivers Delta Resource Center; which features a natural history museum, live native wildlife, a theater, gift shop and canoe/kayak rentals.
