  Tidy, small park
Reviewed on June 19th, 2020
I did not give this park "Excellent" rating because of its size. It is tiny! BUT the ranger is delightful, super-friendly and helpful; the park is very clean / well-cared-for. It would be a great place for a family's destination to spend an afternoon outdoors in a safe, outdoor environment. PROS: LOTS of picnic tables for day picnicing / large group outing / reunion; playground; nice open field; two geocaches; pretty (but short) walk through woods and along swamp and river; small sandy area on river; nearby small watercraft (canoe/kayak) put-ins; Drawbacks: small size with only a short walking trail; very buggy (mosquitos) b/c of swamp/river area; very close to fairly busy road, so traffic noise is a drawback for campers; SUMMARY: the ranger and the park itself do great with what it has to work with, but I am personally drawn to larger, more remote parks.
