Bill S. | One of my favorite places to camp in Maryland | Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 | I Have camped in Pocomoke only in October and I have to say Autumn is an excellent time to be there.
The sites are well spaced, clean, and the addition of a new Restroom/shower facility makes it even better. Very tall mature pines shade the campground and give a quiet, serene atmosphere.
The nearby river has a large dock for fishing. close to the dock is a large pavilion with a fireplace.
Along the riverside are 8 or so small cabins. There is a playground and a couple of open areas for ball games, frisbee, etc...
Some sites have electric, some do not. I don't think any have water/cable hookups.
My wife and I hiked one of the trails and it was very nice with easy inclines and mature forest.
I am guessing this park may be a little buggy in the summer but fall was perfectly pleasant and I would expect spring to be the same.
Make sure to bring your canoe/Kayak if you have one. Or drive 6 miles to Snow Hill and rent one. They tow you up river and you paddle back to the rental site. An excellent, easy 2-3 hour trip. I hear that the Shad Landing portion of the park also has boat rentals but haven't checked it out yet. You have to drive a ways to get there from Milburn.
Overall, My wife and I love this campground and recommend it to anyone who wants to camp in the Eastern Shore. | | | This review has been viewed 112 times. |
