Unknown | Nice site on the lake | Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 | One of the nicest sites at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. It was close to the restroom/showers, although the walk was uphill to the facilities. This site isn't as private a some of the other lakeside sites farther down the trail, but I liked the proximity to the showers (we camped last week in 90 degree temps). ;)
If they cleared some of the brush out the view would be fantastic! There is a path to the beach but the large boulders make it difficult to actually walk on the beach. There are some nice rocks at the beach to sit on, though.
We waited 2 years to camp here - saw the site during a geocaching trip and reserved it for the following year, then the MN government shut the state down and we lost our reservations and had to wait another year to get this highly desirable campsite. It was worth it. | | | This review has been viewed 181 times. |
