Unknown | Great St. Pk. for families | Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 | Stayed 6 days late July-early Aug. Lot's of activities for kids. Tubing/canoeing on the river, swimming pool, and a Nature Center that has "hands-on" activties during certain times of the day. Multiple bike and hiking trails on-site and nearby. Staff is wonderful. Volleyball net and ballfield on-site too.
Most sites have shade although I guess about 20% in full sun much of the day. Didn't have any rain while there but I'd guess some sites will have drainage problems primarily the sites in the middle of the wooded area. Some sites have more privacy than others but none are what you'd call secluded. Little screening between most sites. Most sites have ample room to set up a typical campsite. A few are generous. Great firewood, mostly hardwood and dry for the most part, for sale at the campground store. The 2 bathrooms we used were basic, but generally kept clean with 1 exception. Shower room are separate buildings and decent. Unlimited supply of decent hot water but you do have to keep hitting that "&*(#" button to keep it going. BTW, some stalls are much better than others as far as how long between button pushing so check.
Small town 3 mi. away for restocking essential food items, but just about anything else you need to go a bit further. Cell phone coverage ok for me but some campers had issues.
FWIW, we had a blast and plan on going again even though it's an 8 hr. drive. | | | This review has been viewed 122 times. |
