Sarah Y. | great park for families | Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 | The best thing about this state park is that everything is accessible by foot from your campsite, which is really nice for families. You don't have to get all the kids back in the car if you want to take a hike or go swimming, you can walk everywhere. There are 3 different playgrounds, a playfield, horseshoe pits, and a basketball hoop. The bathrooms are modern and clean. Since one of my kids is newly potty-trained, I really appreciated that there were so many bathrooms around. The swimming beach is okay- not the best I've been to, but it is adequate. The lake is small, but there is a lot of sand for the kids to play in. When you are sitting on the beach, you can see trucks and cars passing over on the other side- didn't really like that very much. There is a small stream winding through the campground, and many of the campsites are wooded and private- especially sites 25 and 29 (walk-in), and sites 38, 40, 42, and 44. Site #9 is also very nice, not quite as private as the other sites I mentioned, but it is right in front of the stream. | | | This review has been viewed 96 times. |
