Todd S. | Nice, Busy Campground | Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 | We stayed in tent site 119 on the 4th of July weekend in 2015. It is a relatively isolated campsite right on the water, but is a couple hundred yards from the parking lot so you need to haul your gear a ways to your site. Many other sites are close to the parking lot. Camp hosts were friendly and attentive. It was very busy on a beautiful holiday weekend so a lot of the garbage cans were full and some of the portable toilets ran out of paper. Otherwise the campground is clean and well maintained. Lots of "toys" on the water so fishing would be tough if that is your interest. We enjoyed our stay but will come back on a less busy weekend.
Unknown | A nice campground very close to the Cities. | Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 | This is a nice park with friendly staff, and it's great for an "easy" camping trip from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
I admit, I came in with low expectations since I am accustomed to State Park camping, with lots of space and privacy between sites. But I was very pleasantly surprised at how great our camping experience here was. The views were nice, we had a nice big tree in our site (117) and we were disturbed late by other guests, and the showers were clean.
The tent area here is basically a rolling lawn area with some nice trees, removed from the cars and overlooking the lake. We used the park as a launch point to our other adventures beginning in Cannon Falls a few miles away: biking the Cannon Valley Trail and kayaking the Cannon River. What a blast!
