Thunder Lake Provincial Park |
Reviewed on June 19th, 2020 |
We have gone to Thunder Lake for the past two years for 4 days each time. Last year in July and this year in August. The campground is nice. The spots are treed and you aren't right on top of your neighbours. Some spots are better than others.
The water is good for water skiing and tubing. We've never encountered any leeches in the middle of the lake. It's a nice lake for beginner tubers and ok skiers. On the weekend it does get crowded and you need to watch out for other boats more.
The beach is meh. There is lots of seagull poop and I was told by a local that they are stocking the lake and that is why there is so many little dead fish along the edge. We did have a couple of leeches appear while we were here but nothing too terrible.
If you are here mainly for camping and boating it's a good place but I wouldn't recommend it for laying on the beach for a day. |
