Before campground admins can add campsites to campground areas, campsite types need to be created. Campsite types are a way of identifying different types, or groups, of campsites. For example; Electric, Non-Electric, Full Hookup, Group, Cabin, etc. Campsite Type names will be visible to customers when viewing campsites and are used to set reservation rates and settings for similar types of campsites.

However, please note that whatever name is used for a campsite type, it has no impact on the actual properties of campsites associated with the campsite type. For example, a campsite may be associated with a campsite type named 'Electric Campsite' but the actual properties on the individual campsite will need to have the 'Electric' checkbox selected at the campsite level to show that the campsite actually has an electric hookup. Campsites associated with the 'Electric Campsite' type will use the rates associated with the 'Electric Campsite' type whether the campsite is really electric or not.

To view and manage campsite types, select 'Campsite Types & Rates' from the Campgrounds menu.

The Campsite Types & Rates page shows a list of campground types at the campground. If no types have been entered yet, the list will be empty. If types have been entered, there will be a list of available campsite types and will also show the tax rate, weekday rate, weekend rate, and holiday rate associated with each type.

To add a new campsite type, click on the 'Add Campsite Type' link at the bottom of the 'Campsite Types & Rates' page. This will bring up a page to add a new campsite type and configurable options that can be set for the new campsite type.

The first step when adding a new campsite type is to select a name for it. There is a list of pre-set names in a drop down list with some of the more common options. However, you can also enter in your own name in the 'Custom' input box. If you enter a name in the custom input box, this will be used instead of what is in the pre-set drop-down list.

Edit a Campsite Type

To edit a campsite type, click on the yellow pencil to the right of a campsite type in the list. This will take you to a page where you can edit settings and set preferences for the particular campsite type. The list of options will look similar to what you saw when adding a new campsite type.

Remove a Campsite Type

To remove a campsite type, click on the red X to the right of the campsite type list. Note: if there are any campsites in the system that still use this campsite type, the delete option will not be available until these campsites have been changed to a different type or have been removed.
